House of Sounders
The Creation of a Brand

In June 2022, I began work on the project that would become House of Sounders, a collection of social media content that aimed to serve one of the largest fanbases in Major League Soccer through the establishment of a breaking news front, engaging content that brought fans closer to the club and supporters groups, and provided matchday updates as part of the page's partnership with Area Sports Network.
As a part of the House of Sounders team, I worked to grow a social media brand, garnering over 1,000 followers in under a year. In a small team, I was responsible for managing the Twitter and Instagram profiles, as well as providing input towards our brand identity and strategy. I often worked both from home and at Lumen Field and Starfire Sports, two major beats that I'd cover as a reporter.

Not only has my experience over the first year that the page has been live granted me hands-on experience with the trials and hardships of working in the most social media-conscious age of humanity, but it's also improved my collaborative skills through my contribution to efforts both inside and outside the group.
Expanding Online Content

As House of Sounders grew, partnering with brands and influencers such as West Coast Goalkeeping and Rafa Moraes and creating content that expanded to provide coverage of OL Reign, Tacoma Defiance, and Ballard FC, we began to develop processes that informed the way we worked. I learned how to come up with ideas that developed from conceptual sketches and layouts to final products within the small group that we worked with. By nature, I was able to work side-by-side with every aspect of a sports media page in the 21st century, something that I believe is beyond valuable.

As of 2023, @HouseofSounders has garnered upwards of 1,600 followers on Instagram, with new experiences continuing to redefine the way that it operates. It's not a static project; it's a living piece of work that reflects the growth of a group over a year. That's remarkable - a look into what makes the posts that flood our feeds tick.
