My name is Owen. I live in Seattle, Washington (go Sounders!) and I’ve lived and breathed football since I was born. I’m lucky enough to live in one of the relatively few places in the US that is truly a football town and the benefit of that is that I’ve always grown up around football. It started by just playing grassroots, but then I got more serious and played at higher and higher levels. It’s been brilliant to see the development of a league and team around me, and it’s had a huge effect on how I view football as a player and as a fan. As I grew up and slowly realized that the fantasy of going pro was slipping away, I discovered another dream: I wanted to tell stories.

 

Books have been another incredible part of my life, and that’s developed from working in the school library as a middle schooler to taking a part-time job at the local indie bookstore. Being surrounded by stories (and narrative) is something that I eventually discovered isn’t solely confined to the pages of a book, but rather something that can be found in anything one loves enough. For me, that’s football. The stories that envelop the game are begging to be told, and I want to tell them.
